Cardz2 An Angel Trademark (continued) Back to Previous
Nobody can claim ownership of square cards, but if you'd like to use the *name* Cardz2 (said Cards Squared), you're very welcome to. Actually, I'd be honored. Your Cardz2 game will be compatible with all Cardz2 gaming boards, and IDP will provide free web-based and print-based advertising for your Cardz2 game.
Here's the fine print:
1. The correct name is Cardz2 (with the 2 in superscript). Please make sure the name is printed correctly and (either on the outside packaging or the interior printed materials) please credit the use as:
Cardz2 is a trademark of E.J. Angel (www.windstormcreative.com/angel/). Used by permission #####.
The ##### should be replaced with the unique permission code we send you.
2. *Before* the game is produced, email IDP's legal department, at legal at windstorm creative dot com, and tell them:
Your legal name Your mailing address Your website URL The name of the company to publish the game The company's mailing address The company's phone number The company's website Name of the game Street date of the game
Tell them you're requesting permission to utilize the Cardz2 name. If you supply everything they need, they'll confirm receipt and grant you written permission as well as your unique permission code number. They'll also send you the Cardz2 logo.
3. Within thirty days of your game's street date, send *two* copies of the finished game to:
Immortal Day Publishing Re: Cardz2 Use 7419 Ebbert Dr SE Port Orchard WA 98367
That's it. No fee. No royalty. No approval of content. Very few hoops to jump through. You don't even credit my publisher.
In exchange, we'll grant these excellent benefits to thank you for helping to make Cardz2 known throughout the galaxy:
IDP will list your game on their webcenter with links to the game's page on your website for as long as the game is available.
IDP will list your game in their print catalog and marketing materials (with contact information for your company) for as long as the game is available.
I will list your game here at my site with a link to your buy page.
Another option, of course, is to skip the hoop, ditch the funky names and just snark my ideas. In which case you're a lazy punk. But hey, if you're too cheap to pony up two copies of your game in exchange for a barrel of indefinite advertising, I understand. Punk.
