Stacked and d6:O.S.

I believe I've played every CCG "operating system" on the market. Simple ones, complex ones, patented ones, and so on. I really want to lose myself in the game. I don't want to have to concentrate on the mechanics. I want to be thinking about my persona and my strategy. I want to fall into the back story, anticipate four moves ahead, scrutinize my opponent's ticks and twitches. I want an OS that's a strong but simple skeleton to hang my story on. Stacked is that system.

With effortless mathematics and a beautiful system of cardworks, Jennifer DiMarco (author, publisher, math whiz) created Stacked and began research and testing more than ten years ago. The system was fiercely protected during development. Stacked cards interact and modify each other physically. The Stacked system can work with a d4, d6 (which is what I use), d10, d12 or d20 basis and allows for the creation of a handheld CCG or a board game or a combination of both (like MG3K). Stacked is a (R), (c), Patent Pending system and allows for countless variations in game play. The system assures that even if your opponent is working with identical cards, mystery still abounds. Also, the cards are self-regulating (you can't break the rules accidentally) and self-powered (no common "energy" cards cluttering your deck). Play is intuitive and seamless.

I was very sneaky to make sure I was one of the proof readers for the book being published about Stacked--"It's Not What You've Got, It's How You're Stacked: The Complete Mechanics and Development History of the Stacked Operating System (A True Tale of Sex, Power, Religion, Money and Math)" due in the winter of 2007--so that I'd have an inside track on the system.

MG3K utilizes the d6:O.S. (six-sided die Old School) battle system introduced in 1989 in Arena Warriors by Alexander Gekko. Only a single d6 is needed to play.

For information on using the Stacked or d6:O.S. systems with permission, please contact IDP's legal department, at legal at windstorm creative dot com or call 360-769-7174. Their terms are insanely reasonable and completely flexible.
